Daniel Boone's Grill & Tavern

Junior waited on us. I had the grilled fish tacos they were excellent and by default came with Spanish rice, the Spanish rice was mid. Again, I engulfed the tacos, would recommend. They came with a side of guacamole, pico de gallo, and salsa. My family and I have been frequenting Daniel Boones lately. Junior has a winning playful personality which was the cherry on top of the experience. The food was delectable and delightful. If you are looking for good service look no further than Daniel Boones Grill and Tavern. Clean bathrooms as well. I forgot about the hosts giving us a table promptly, as well as the free blue bell ice cream and chili beans. Free is always good isn’t it? Is service more important or is the flavor of the food more important? Daniel Boone’s Grill and Tavern has both!

This was the busiest we have seen the place but it was Friday night and the lice music was going strong. This is agreat place for some good southern cooking, and s fun atmosphere with all different sorts of sayings and decorations. As usual, the food was magnificent. We had Mack N Cheese, which is delicious deep fried macaroni and cheese, and Freetoe Chilly Pie.

I must say if you’re in the Tyler TX area you MUST stop in and try this home cooking style food. Me and my husband shared the chicken fried steak it comes with 2 sides we got the fried greens tomatoes and okra it was all VERY good!! My daughter enjoyed the hotdog and fries and the rum punch is good but taste very banana. Every meal comes with FREE beans and FREE ice cream. Which are very tasty as well!!

We have been going to this restaurant for years. They have free beans and blue bell ice cream. Their portions are big. You'll leave full. The service is always good. Their is not a lot of wait time to get the food. Everything always tastes good.

My son and I ate lunch there on a Monday afternoon during lunch rush. There was quite a bit of a wait to be seated, as they were packed full. The hostess wasn't very friendly, but the serving and kitchen staff are very friendly and welcoming, and very helpful. We sat off on the side, in the bar area, not the main dining room in front of the kitchen, and we had four different people come to our table to make sure our dining needs were exceptionally met. I had not eaten at Daniel Boone's in about two years or more, so I ordered several different dishes to re-aquaint myself with their fare. The fried pickles were soft and mushy, and I found them to be inedible. The potato logs are simply half a baked potato cut into strips, it seems, but they were good. My son enjoyed a hamburger. I loved their one-pound hamburger steak and mashed potatoes, it's my favorite dish of theirs. The CFS was decent. The loaded baked potato was very good as well. The fried okra was soft in the middle. The black-eyed peas were good. The free pinto beans, chili, and Blue Bell ice cream is all very delicious. The portions are appetite satisfying. I like Daniel Boone's and will definitely return, hopefully more often than every two years.

One could probably spend a couple of hours just looking at all of the decorations and still not see everything. Daniel Boone's is what you expect a tavern to look like. Now, the food was amazing and decently priced, as well. Around 44 for three people. I got the Griddle Steak, which is a chicken fried steak but no breading. He got the Chicken Fried steak and his son just got a cheeseburger. We all enjoyed our food. Especially the fries dipped in the white gravy. The mashed potatoes were not hot but not cold either. Other than that, I thought that they were good but he had to add salt and pepper to his. It took a little bit to get noticed but Andrew was a good server. Very polite.

My trip to visit Tyler, TX was marked by a stop at this fantastic local restaurant. I loved the kitschy decorations. The food was Texas sized and tasted fantastic (especially the macaroni and cheese bites). *Definitely try the complimentary pinto beans (chili - hot) or ice cream. It was nice to meet the owner and our waitress was awesome. The chicken fried steak and burger were larger than my son’s x-large head. The prices were very reasonable for our current economy, I felt like I got a good deal. You could also tell the food was homemade and not frozen. I can’t give enough compliments to the chef/kitchen staff.

A nice restaurant since 2001! Fries are extremely crunchy, they are really good at frying. They have special “kids eat free” and Karaoke night on Thursday. Free blue bell ice cream! Cheap and nice place.
